Nature Play Days are special outdoor play experiences for young children that invites them to slow down, get curious, get messy, and discover the natural world through open-ended play and exploration.

​

We spend our time outside noticing what is around us, following children's interests, collecting treasures, creating with natural materials, moving our bodies, and making space for wonder.

​

Each Nature Play Day is different because nature is always changing. Rather than following a predetermined theme or lesson, the environment is thoughtfully prepared with invitations for children to explore, create, move, imagine, and discover at their own pace.

​

At Snails & Turkey Tails, we believe that children have a hundred languages for expressing themselves—through painting and building, movement and storytelling, collecting and creating, wondering and discovering.

​

Part artist's studio, part outdoor adventure, part nature sanctuary, Nature Play Days offer a thoughtfully prepared environment where children can explore materials, ideas, and the natural world with curiosity and joy.

​

There are no prescribed crafts or step-by-step projects here. Instead, children are offered time, space, beautiful materials, and the freedom to follow their own ideas.

​

On any given Saturday, children may find a cozy camping tent for imaginative play and quiet reflection, a hammock swaying beneath the trees, a slackline for balancing and building confidence, a mud kitchen for messy exploration, a tool station for constructing and creating, and art materials and natural treasures waiting to be discovered.

​

Children might sculpt with clay, paint with watercolors, experiment with mud and water, build with sticks and wood, create ephemeral art from found objects, hammer and construct with real tools, balance and climb, swing in the hammock, curl up in the tent, or spend the morning captivated by a feather, a beetle, a tiny creature, or the changing light through the trees.

Ages 18 months – 5 years | Saturdays | 10:00–11:15 AM

75-minute outdoor play experience
$35 per child

Advance registration is required. Each event can accommodate up to 10 children, with caregivers.
